I’m back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took a long and much needed blogging vacation. I was at a loss for words for a while. I am not pregnant (ha) and my wedding is over, so what the hell else is there to blog about? LOTS! Every time I go to stalk my favorite blog I feel as though someone is announcing a pregnancy or an engagement and as much as I love babies and am starting to love weddings again, I am sick of it. So let’s discuss some fun stuff from here on out. I am jumping back on the band wagon and linking back up with Jamie from This Kind of Love and doing a good ol’ What I’m Loving Wednesday. Toodles.

Everyone loves Janelle and Kiefer. How can you not? They are the power couple of this winter. With the combination of her mothering skills and his sobriety, they are unstoppable. I cannot get enough of 16 and Pregnant, Teen Mom, Teen Mom 2, whatever. I love them all. Every single damn time I watch the show, I get this insanely irrational anxiety that I am going to be 16 and pregnant. Not happening my friends.

Oreo truffle balls are super easy to make, taste divine, and look fancy. I am making a ton of these this holiday season for gifts. The nice thing is you can dip them in different chocolate and top them with all kinds of things!

I usually don’t include two videos in a post, but this is my personal fave. I watch it all year round, but it is especially great this time of year. I’ve got Baileyyssss.

This is just classic and there is no need for words. Simple and funny that is all.

TinkerBell Cosmetics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was reading another blog today and stumbled upon this and almost died. I LOVED their nail polish. Some may ask, “why the hell would you want peel off nail polish?” Well! I went to a Catholic school for the majority of my life where we wore uniforms and were NOT allowed makeup, nail polish, creativity, or fun (Jk…kinda). This was perfect because I could spend 3 hours painting away and staring at my pudgy hands and then peel it off on the bus the next morning. The lipstick, however, never really worked. It was too pale ( I preferred my moms coral compact from Victoria Jackson..classic) and was extremely dry. I think they purposely did that so that little girls did not look too vampy. Sadly, I noticed that the company has gone under. The closed up shop in the 90′s.

So I stumbled upon this amazingly hilarious site www.butyourelikereallypretty.com which has pretty much made my day. They post really funny cartoons about celebrities and other gossipy items. I was drawn to the site initially because of this little Kardashian gem above. I am SO SICK of Kim Kardashian. I can’t take her shit anymore. The two part wedding special? The blatant cheating on twitter for her fame-whore brother on Dancing with the Stars? How can she live with herself. Her face is getting more plastic and inflated by the day, and I am starting to really like Khloe. This shit needs to stop.

Since the wedding is over, we have had a lot of extra time on our hands at night. I have to say it is a little strange (although welcomed with open arms). We will come home do things around the house, workout, make dinner then I almost instinctively think of wedding things I can do and there is NOTHING. I have fallen back on an old obsession of reading trashy Chick Lit. I read/am reading these two books this week and they are quick and delightful. The problem is, that when I start a book I feel like I need to finish it quickly. Last night I stayed up until 1:15 reading, not good.

Everyone has been talking about how the foliage is going to miss us here in New England, but I beg to differ. Lately I have seen it everywhere and it makes me appreciate it that much more.

My husband and I finally bought a bed (wooden frame headboard/foot board) about a month ago. We need something to go above the bed because there is just a weird big space. I have been meaning to make a driftwood mirror for years but have been a little bit lazy. One of my plans this weekend is to start collecting wood to make some type of masterpiece. I also LOVE the driftwood table. Anything driftwood is amazing in my mind.

It is very hard for me, for some reason, to admit that I am indeed an Apple person. I always thought that if I admitted it, it would be like selling myself out. Well, I am an Apple person for sure. I gave into the iPhone a few years ago and don’t know how I existed without it. I obsessed over iPods in college. And I loved my Mac Book Pro until my husband poured a beer onto it and it sadly died. Steve Jobs was a true visionary and changed technology for the better. I get irrationally upset when certain celebrities die. My parents told me once over dinner that Christopher Reeves died, and I burst out crying. I was at a chipotle when I heard Michael Jackson died, I cried then and cried all night. It’s just sad. Watching Steve Jobs dwindle away over the past few years has been really hard to stomach. He blows Bill Gates/Microsoft out of the water and always will. He will be missed.

Good Dog Carl books! I was a big fan of these books when I was little because we didn’t have a dog at the time and I desperately wanted one. I especially wanted one that carried babies around and did chores, awesome. This book was super realistic and safe in every way. An over sized Rottweiler babysitting a toddler and carrying him on their back? Makes total sense. I know when I am ready to have a baby, I am also going to get a Rottweiler because it will save me a lot of money on daycare costs.

I’m on display on display on display! It took me awhile to warm up to Melissa (I usually side with Theresa) but now I am all about her. Sure her boobs look like two rocks on her chest, but her body after three kids? It is motivational. Love her, actually lover her song, and think its hilarious how she leaves her baby on the ground all the time!

Foxy Knoxy? Seeing the trial finally end is a little bittersweet for me. I have been obsessed for awhile now and don’t know exactly how I feel about her going free. I think she is innocent, but definitely knows what happened to Meredith. Either way, her life is going to suck.

We are going on our honeymoon in January (we ran out of vacay time) and I cannot f-ing wait. We will be traveling to a cute little resort in Mexico that is on a surf break for him and has free yoga for me. Yay all around. I would of preferred to get the hell out of here the day after the wedding, but think that we will be very glad to be escaping to a tropical oasis come winter.

TGIF! I would love nothing more than to run from my office this afternoon to the closest packy and down a few pumpkin heads. Alas, I am off the sauce for two weeks and off the carbs too. What is a weekend without these two things? I have no idea. I will let you know Monday. On a positive note, I have been cooking carb free/fat free for the past few nights and the food has actually been really delicious. Delicious enough even for a 27 year old man to enjoy with a beer (and not know its diet mwahahahah). Here are two delightful things I made last night. Both recipes are from the South Beach Diet. Yes, SB is a diet, but to me it’s more of a way to just eat really clean and be more conscious (cough auto pilot cough) of what I am putting in my body. (Disclaimer: I am the worst food photog ever)

Bacon Cheeseburger Quiche
Phase: 1
Preheat Oven: 350

1 lb very lean hamburger
1 small chopped onion
4 slices crisp-cooked turkey bacon chopped in bits
3 eggs
1/2 c low-fat mayonnaise
1/2 c fat-free half-n-half
8 oz shredded reduced-fat cheddar or Swiss cheese
garlic powder to taste (optional)
white pepper

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Brown hamburger in skillet with onion. Remove and mix in bowl with bacon pieces breaking up any larger clumps with a fork or pastry mixer until you have a fine mix. Drain well of any excess grease and press into the bottom of a deep-dish pie pan. Set aside.

Combine remaining ingredients in mixer bowl and whip well. Pour mixture over beef ‘crust’ and bake 40-45 minutes until top is browned and ‘set’.

Cool 15-20 minutes before slicing.

Chocolate Almond Ricotta Cheesecake
Phase: 1
Preheat Oven: 350

15 ounces of part skim ricotta cheese
4 whole eggs
1 cup of Splenda
1/3 cup fat free half-and-half
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 tablespoons almond extract
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place all ingredients in a food processor and allow to blend for about 5 minutes – this will allow the ingredients enough time to become very smooth – even the grainiest ricotta. Spray pan with Pam, being sure to spray the sides and bottom.

Bake 30-45 minutes until set. Enjoy!
